Testing & Flushing of Black Mountain Fire Hydrants

The Black Mountain Public Services Department will be testing and flushing Black Mountain fire hydrants from Monday, June 6, 2016 through approximately Wednesday, June 15, 2016. Flushing will begin each morning at approximately 7am. Black Mountain water customers may experience discolored water. Town of Black Mountain Solid Waste Services Request for Proposal

The Town of Black Mountain (the Town) is requesting Proposals for the collection and disposal of residential and commercial garbage and the collection of residential and commercial recyclables, bulky items, white goods, yard waste and seasonal leaf collection. 

It is the intent of this Request for Proposal (RFP) to lead to an agreement between the selected contractor(s) and the Town, which will provide these services as a single contract.  

Sealed proposals must be received and on file with the office of the Town Manager at 160 Midland Avenue, Black Mountain, North Carolina, 28711 on or before 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10th, 2016, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.  The envelope containing the Proposal must be sealed and clearly marked “Solid Waste Services Request for Proposals.”  One (1) original and five (5) copies of the proposal must be presented with the name and address of the proposer clearly shown and in accordance with instructions and upon forms furnished by the Town.

The Town of Black Mountain reserves the right to reject any and all Proposals and to decline to award a contract for these services. The Town will bear no responsibility for cost incurred in preparation of responses to this RFP. Prior to the submission deadline, questions regarding this Request for Proposal may be directed to the following address.

Board of Aldermen Budget Public Hearing

The Black Mountain Board of Aldermen will meet in a special call meeting on Monday, June 6, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room in the Town Hall Building, 160 Midland Avenue, Black Mountain, NC.  The purpose of this meeting is to hold a public hearing on the proposed FY2016-17 Annual Operating Budget which was delivered to the Board on April 20, 2016 and is available for public inspection in the Clerk's office in Town Hall.
