Welcome to the Town of Black Mountain

Dear Black Mountain Residents, Business Owners & Visitors,

Thank you for visiting the Town of Black Mountain online. The purpose of this site is to keep the citizens, businesses and visitors of Black Mountain informed with a wide variety of information. Black Mountain is rich in culture and history and we are delighted to have you visit us and hope you enjoy seeing what makes our town such a special place to live, work and play.

These are exciting and challenging times for Black Mountain. We have scenic parks and recreation areas and exceptional city services and public safety. We are equally proud of the small businesses that are vital to the economic health of Black Mountain, including the outstanding restaurants and unique small businesses that you will find in our historic downtown.

In addition to financial responsibility, the Town Board is focusing on updating the comprehensive plan which was adopted by the Town of Black Mountain in 2014. This plan serves as our guiding document for smart growth. We intend to use the principles outlined in the plan — small town quality of life, safe environment, excellent recreational opportunities, sustainable growth and citizen involvement — to guide the Town of Black Mountain into a leading position among communities in the WNC region.

As Mayor, I invite you to be part of making Black Mountain’s future a bright one.

Mayor Don Collins
