Urban Forestry Commission
The Urban Forestry Commission was established to study, investigate and counsel the Board of Aldermen on the disposition of trees and shrubs in parks, along streets, and in other public areas. The primary goal of the Commission is to facilitate the planting, growth, and protection of trees within the Town. They focus their efforts on fostering communication and coordination among citizens of the town in an effort to protect trees and support their health and growth within the community. The Commission is charged with the development and annual update of a written plan for the care of publicly planted trees and shrubs. In addition, when requested by the Board of Aldermen, the Commission shall consider, investigate, make findings, report, and recommend upon any special matter of question coming within the scope of its work.
