Mission: The Health Initiative builds alliances with community members and organizations to raise awareness and advocate for educational opportunities, activities, programs and facilities promoting healthy lifestyles.
Meetings: The Health Initiative meets regularly on the second Tuesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. at the Carver Community Center. All meetings and projects are open to the public.

The Health Initiative is a supporter of Eat Smart Black Mountain, a coalition that works to promote healthy eating and active living through hands-on gardening and nutrition programs.
