Historic Preservation Commission

The Historic Preservation Commission was established to preserve and raise awareness of structures that have local, state, or federal historical significance. This Commission is still in its infancy as the members are just beginning work on an inventory of historically significant structures within the Town. Service on this Board offers citizens the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a rather exciting adventure. In the coming months the, the Historic Preservation Commission will work for further recognition of the proposed district and the building located within that district. Once established, the work of the Commission will focus on preservation of structures through review of proposals for alterations, demolition or new construction within the historic district, or for the alteration or demolition of designated landmarks. Five citizens serve on this Commission.
