The Town of Black Mountain Recreation and Parks Department is now accepting applications for Evening Recreation Aide I. Duties include opening and closing the recreation center, supervision of youth and adult activities enforcing recreation center rules and regulations. Responsible for some office duties filing, answering phones and attending staff meetings. Also responsible for some cleaning inside center. This is a part-time position consisting of approximately 19 hours per week. Starting salary is $8.00 per hour. Zoning Administrator/Codes Enforcement Officer – The Town of Black Mountain is accepting applications for a Zoning Administrator/Codes Enforcement Officer. Position will report to Planning Director and perform technical, administrative, investigative work as well as inspections for compliance with various ordinances including but not limited to zoning, subdivision, historic preservation, and sign regulations. Applicant must possess knowledge of legal procedures related to the administration and enforcement of zoning laws and ordinances, preferably in North Carolina, and must have the ability to understand and articulate local ordinances, rules, and regulations. Must possess valid driver’s license issued by the State of North Carolina. Graduation from college with a degree in urban planning, architecture, historic preservation or similar field; and/or equivalent combination of experience required. Possession of NC ZO or AICP Certification or the ability to obtain certification within one year of employment. Pool Manager
The Town of Black Mountain Recreation and Parks Department is now accepting applications for a summer Pool Manager. Applicants must be lifeguard certified, WSI preferred. Duties include supervising the lifeguard staff, managing the snack shop (which includes balancing daily cash receipts), life guarding, some pool maintenance, cleaning, swim team coaching experience maybe an added responsibility. Summer Lifeguards
The Town of Black Mountain Recreation and Parks Department is now accepting applications for summer lifeguards. Applicants must be 16 years of age and a certified lifeguard. The applicant will perform duties, including but not limited to, life guarding, cleaning of the pool and facility, some maintenance, operating the snack shop, swim team coaching experience maybe an added responsibility.
