TOWN CLERK/PIO 

Black Mountain, NC (pop. 8,011).  Growing community, 8 miles east of Asheville, located at the foot of Mt. Mitchell, the highest peak in the eastern U.S., seeking certified town clerk/public information officer. Position requires superior organizational and writing skills, and ability to communicate effectively with citizens, staff and elected officials.  This position performs the statutory Town Clerk role and prepares agendas, takes minutes, maintains official records and retrieves information concerning actions. Requires combination of education and experience equivalent to an Associate’s degree or certification in public administration, journalism, paralegal sciences, business or other relevant field (Bachelor degree preferred), with a minimum of five years responsible administrative experience, preferably as a certified clerk in a local government setting. Candidate must possess or be able to attain Notary Public certification within six months and certification as Municipal Clerk within two years of hiring.  Hiring range: $36,322-$54,461 DOQ/E.

Lifeguard
The Town of Black Mountain Recreation and Parks Department is now accepting applications for a summer Lifeguards, Concession Stand Operators, and Assistant Pool Manager.  Applicants for lifeguard positions must be certified lifeguards or have certification by hire date.  Duties include cleaning toilets, emptying trash cans, vacuuming the pool, providing outstanding customer service, pool maintenance, and other duties as assigned.  Pay ranges from $7.50 - $10.50.  All applicants will be subject to and must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check and when applicable a credit check. Seasonal Summer Camp Counselors

The Town of Black Mountain Recreation

Department is now accepting applications for
Seasonal Summer Camp Counselors. Applicants must be at least 18 years old with experience in working with youth. Camp or other group experience preferred. Must be available June 15h-Aug.10th and commit to a minimum of 4 weeks. Work hours 8:30-5:30 daily, some schedule flexibility may exist. Must be a very responsible, organized and dependable individual, able to be a role model to campers and always maintaining a positive attitude. Salary depending on experience.
