Planning Board
The Planning Board is responsible for advising the Board of Aldermen
on matters pertaining to land use and planning issues. The Planning
Board consists of seven (7) citizens appointed to review and improve land
use related ordinances, to provide recommendations to the Board of
Aldermen and the Zoning Board of Adjustment as appropriate, and to
pursue other studies or planning initiatives as directed by the
Board of Aldermen.

In FY 2006, the Board will focus on updating and revising the
Town’s Subdivision and Zoning Regulations to create more consistent
and understandable land use ordinances that will help to implement
the Town of Black Mountain’s
Comprehensive Plan.

Meetings: The Planning Board meets on the fourth Monday of each month at 7:00
p.m. in Town Hall, 160 Midland Avenue. Public
participation and comment is welcomed and encouraged.
