Water Service

The Public Works Department manages the production and distribution of potable water and produces 187 million gallons of water annually from 12 wells which are then distributed through approximately 3,400 taps along 62 miles of water lines.

Citizen Academy

The Black Mountain Citizen Academy is a FREE interactive program directed by the Town Clerk that offers Citizens an inside look at how their government works. The program is offered annually and is limited to 20 participants each year. Anyone interesting in becoming a community leader or who wants to know how their tax dollars are spent and why should consider applying for this program!
