Community Watch Program

The collaboration of residents, community watch members, civic association groups and business partners are critical in reducing crime.  Through teamwork and education, individuals can lessen their chances in becoming victimized and assist in making their community a safer environment.

The Community Watch concept centers on the community and police working together for the safety and protection of a neighborhood within our community.  Community Watch Groups are made up of citizens concerned about their neighborhood.

Community Watch is one of the most effective and least costly answers to crime in a neighborhood.  Watch groups are a foundation of community crime prevention and can be a stepping stone to community revitalization.

The Black Mountain Community Watch Program serves both the residential and business communities. We have implemented a Business to Business Watch Program which is designed for our business owners. Through this partnership we can openly share information, concerns and ideas with one another. Both programs consist of training aids that introduce and explain our Community Watch Programs.
