Trail Etiquette

  • Pay attention to signs, as some trails are restricted to pedestrians only.
  • Be courteous and respectful of other trail users.
  • Yield when entering or crossing trails. When crossing a trail at uncontrolled points, yield to traffic on the trail.
  • Keep right; pass on left.
  • Give a ring or call out to alert other trail users that you are about to pass.
  • Bicyclists must yield to pedestrians.
  • Use no more than half the trail so that others may pass.
  • Leave no trace.
  • Know the trail design limitations. Selecting the right location is safer and more enjoyable for all concerned.
  • Be quiet on nature trails.
  • Stay on the trail for your own safety.
