Development Portal

We are pleased to offer residents, businesses, and contractors access to permitting services online with our development portal. With the development portal, you can apply for permits, search permit records, request inspections, and view inspection results.

If you are a new contractor, please call our office and we will get you setup on the portal.

Contractors will be given a contractor access code that will be unique to the contractor to track the status of permits and inspections, request inspections and submit permits and documentation. 

HELPFUL INFORMATION: 

1. Inspection results and comments are entered on the portal. Just search by your permit number and you will find the inspection, the date completed, if it passed or failed, and any comments.
2. Inspections must be submitted either online through the development portal or by calling the inspection request line at 828-419-9372. All inspections requests must be received by 4:00 p.m. to be scheduled for the next day. No inspection requests may be asked for in the field. 
3. Please call to cancel your inspection if it will not be ready. If you do not cancel your inspection, it will be considered a failed inspection.
4. We do our best to honor AM and PM request times, but please know that we cannot guarantee any times that the inspector will be at your job site.
5. Review times for permits are 7-14 days.
6. Invoices will be sent for payment. Permits may be paid for online, in-person at the Water Department, or by mail. No payments will be taken over the phone.
