Ninth Street Bridge Replacement

The Town of Black Mountain received funding through the Municipal Bridge Program administered through the French Broad River MPO to replace the two-lane bridge on Ninth Street. The cost to replace the bridge will be shared by the Town (20%) and NCDOT (80%). The project is identified in the State Transportation Improvement Plan (STIP) as HL-0013.

The project is being administered by the NC Department of Transportation. The engineering and design services were awarded to Vaughn & Melton Consulting. The engineering phase is anticipated to last 12-18 months and cost approximately $315,000. Early right-of-way estimate is $120,000 and construction estimates are $680,000. These costs will be updated further into the design process.
