We are so excited to announce a new Energy Conservation Assistance Program!!!
The goal of the Energy Conservation Assistance Program is to help low income citizens save energy, reduce their utility bills, and stay in their homes. We want to keep citizens warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and safe all year long while educating the public about energy efficiency and household safety.
We will be working with Duke Progress Energy on how to conduct home energy audits and will offer various workshops on how to reduce energy inside your home. Stay tuned for more details!
We will also be providing Energy Conservation Kits to eligible citizens. These kits might include a power strip, CFL bulbs, insulation wrap for your water heater, and more. To be eligible, citizens must meet the income guidelines for Buncombe and complete the required application and submit it to the Planning and Development Department.
