Recreation Facilities Cancellations & Closures in Response to COVID-19

In response to COVID-19 and the precautionary steps and in order to protect the most vulnerable members of the community, the Town will comply with Buncombe County Stay Home Stay Safe Order which will take effect on Thursday March 26, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. The Town of Black Mountain has closed its recreational facilities to the public until further notice. (Hopefully only as long as we can get a handle on the virus spread but we will let everyone know as soon as we are able to open them back up!)

These closures include the Golfcourse, town parks, Lakeview Senior Center, and Grey Eagle Arena. Along with these closures, ALL programs and private rentals for March-April will be canceled with the possibility of being rescheduled at a later date. The Recreation and Park’s offices located at 304 Black Mountain Ave. is closed to the public for entry but is open for business at this time. We recommend contacting us by phone or email to conduct business.

Canceled programs include:

Adult Basketball, Start Smart Soccer, Junior Tennis Clinics: 11-12 & 13-14, Adult Tennis Clinics, All Senior Programs for April, April Spring Hike in Ridgecrest, and the Spring Walk to School event.

The decision on May programs is currently to be determined based on the monitoring of the virus.
