Stay-at-Home Order Impact on Parks

Black Mountain Greenways

In order to protect the most vulnerable members of the community, the Town will comply with Buncombe County Stay Home Stay Safe Order which will take effect on Thursday March 26, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. This means that all parks, playgrounds, and public restrooms will remain closed until further notice. This closure applies to Cragmont Park, Lake Tomahawk Park (including the walking trail), River Walk Park, and Veterans Park. All park facilities, including the Grey Eagle Arena, Lakeview Center, and park offices will remain closed to the public.

All greenways will remain open (as long as social distancing measures, including maintaining a six-foot social distance and gatherings of no more than ten people is practiced.) Our greenways include the Garden Greenway Trail (behind Grey Eagle Arena), the Oaks Trail (from downtown to Veterans Park), Village Way (between Black Mountain Primary and Elementary School), and Flat Creek Greenway (behind Black Mountain Primary School).
