Bid Title: Swannanoa River Stream Restoration RFP
Category: Request For Proposals (RFP)
Status: Closed

This project will restore and stabilize approximately 1700 LF of the Swannanoa River located in Veteran's Park in Black Mountain. The primary goal of the program is to stabilize the eroding banks and river bed using natural materials such as stone and wood and native riparian plantings.

In areas where banks are eroding, bank grading will lessen steep slopes and allow for the installation of bioengineering practices to quickly establish native riparian shrubs and their stabilizing root masses. In-stream structures will be used to provide grade control in the river bed and direct flow to the center of the channel, which will help reinforce stabilized banks and promote the formation of riffles and pools.

All proposals are to be received by mail no later than Wednesday, March 17, 2021, by 2:00 p.m. Each proposal should be clearly marked: "PROPOSAL RESPONSE - SWANNANOA RIVER RESTORATION"

***Email or facsimile submission will not be accepted***

The maximum budget for construction, materials, and plantings for this grant funded project is $126,000.
